Daniela Rodrigues presented the paper “Economic disruptions and obesity in preschool children” at the 33rd Congress organized by the European Childhood Obesity Group, ECOG (Gent, Belgium, from October 8 to 10, 2024). The paper compares data collected in 2024, within the scope of the ScreenHealth project, with data from 2009 and 2016 from two other projects led by CIAS, the Research Center in Anthropology and Health of the University of Coimbra. The data show that the prevalence of overweight and obesity in children aged between 3 and 6 years has been decreasing, regardless of family socioeconomic status. The paper has as co-authors: Milena Moraes, Gabriela Costa, Aristides Machado-Rodrigues and Cristina Padez.
